However, some cultures count age by including or excluding the current year. For example, a person who is 20 years old is considered the same age as another person who is in their 21st year of life. Traditional Chinese age systems consider a person to be 1 year old at birth, and their age increases during the Traditional Chinese New Year, rather than on their birthday. This means that if a baby is born a day before the Traditional Chinese New Year, they will be 2 years old two days later, despite being only 2 days old.

Sometimes, the result of this age calculator can be confusing, especially when the starting date is at the end of a month. For instance, we count the period between Feb. 20 to Mar. 20 as one month. However, calculating the age between Feb. 28, 2022, and Mar. 31, 2022, can be done in two ways. If we consider Feb. 28 to Mar. 28 as one month, then the result is one month and three days. If we consider both Feb. 28 and Mar. 31 as the end of the month, then the result is one month. Both methods are reasonable, but our calculations use the former method. This confusion arises due to the varying number of days in different months. Similar situations occur for dates such as Apr. 30 to May 31, May 30 to June 30, and so on.
